
The Transcona Council for Seniors Inc.’s primary role is to assist seniors to remain living independently within their own home and to encourage socialization. The TCS was established in 1993 to carry on those purposes and undertakings and incorporated on August 20 1993. The geographical boundaries of this region are: Lagimodiere Boulevard to the west. Springfield Road and Gunn Road to the north, the Perimeter Highway to the east. Dugald Road and Murdock: Road, and Plessis Road to St. Boniface Road to the South.
Our Mission
The Transcona Council for Seniors Inc. is one of the councils that work within the 12 community areas of Winnipeg. The primary role is to assist seniors to remain living independently in their own home. The Transcona Council for Seniors Inc. provides information and referrals to community seniors as well as identifying and facilitating services needed to meet the needs of Transcona Seniors. The Transcona Council for Seniors Inc. is a welcoming and inclusive senior support system that celebrates diversity and ensures all seniors – across religions, cultures, ethnicities, newcomer communities and the LGBTQIA2S+ community feel safe, valued and supported. We acknowledge that Winnipeg is located within Treaty No. 1 Territory, the traditional lands of the Anishinaabe, Ininiwak, and Dakota Oyate peoples, and is the Birthplace of the Métis Nation and the Heart of the Métis Nation Homeland.
